Top 25 of the Decade – Ki Toy Johnson

In 2003 “The Way You Move” video was a big video. I can remember watching it in and saying “ Damn, who is this chick with the fatty”? Well, I guess I wasn’t the only one who felt that way. That weekend when I went to the beauty salon women were talking about Ki Toy as well as the men in the barber shops.

Ki Toy waist to hip ratio really put her on the map. With a waist line of 22 inches and hips almost double that, Ki Toy put the thick, dark skinned girl back on the map in music videos.

I heard her on a couple of panels here in Atlanta and she is well versed and has a lot of business savvy. She owns two businesses and come to find out she just did the video as a favor to her brother in law, Big Boi.

Although she never really pursued this industry beyond the traditional roster of mags, Blackmens, Smooth, XXL, a television show with Trina, “With Friends Like These” (2005), which never made it and she was in “Beauty Shop” (2005), starring Queen Latifah, and a few other films. She was also in an ad for Boost Mobile. She definitely made a HUGE impact on the game.
