I met Brooke for the first time Thanksgiving weekend 2006 at the Blackmen Magazine Anniversary Party. Up to that point, I’d only ever seen her from her spreads in Smooth and Lowrider. She was scheduled to shoot for Blackmen that same weekend, along with Brittany Dailey and Susie Da Silva, but I didn’t know what to expect.

I saw Mighty Mike checking into the hotel and he asked had I met Brooke yet. I could tell from the kool aid smile on his face that I had nothing to worry about.

Over the next few years, Brooke was one of the dominate faces in numerous videos, including Lil Wayne’s “Lollipop,” The Game’s “Wouldn’t Get Far,” Akon’s “Just Wanna Love You,” 50’s “Amusement Park,” Lil Boosie’s “Wipe Me Down,” Webbie’s “Independent,” UGK’s “International Players Anthem, Swizz Beatz “It’s Me Snitches,”….already you get the point!

Brooke spent multiple seasons on Nick Cannon’s “Wildn’ Out” before she became the only reason I watched “Candy Girls” on VH1. Brooke is also the co-host, along with fellow Top 25 member Vanessa Veasley, of “The Candy Shop” podcast.

And if she didn’t make the Top 25… Mighty Mike might have killed me lol.
