People are always looking for the next big thing…the girl that has “it.” You can’t always describe what “it” is, you just know” it” when you see ”it.”
The first time I saw the video for Ludacris and Chris Brown’s song for “I Know What Them Girls Like,” I knew the girl with the short blonde hair had “it!” The hair alone was going to separate her from everyone else, not to mention that she was gorgeous. Plus when a woman cuts her hair that short, you know she exudes confidence, and what’s sexier that that. I knew that I had to find out who she was asap!
A few weeks later I get a call from Charles while he was on the set of a Smooth Magazine shoot (with someone we thought would be one of the signature DyanstySeries models…but alas lol), and he says “guess who I’m standing next too?” It was girl we’d been looking for, and her name was Amber Rose. “And guess where she’s from? Philly! My city?? Get the f%#k outta here!”
We both knew we had to get her shot as soon as we could, and we were lucky she was free the next week (even luckier than we knew). Her shoot went so well that our makeup artist Renny Vasquez (celeb makeup artist to the stars) said he didn’t even need to be paid!
That next Monday at the crack of dawn (which is like 9am for me) I get a call from Charles saying go to TMZ. I see a pic of Amber with Kanye West AND one of Charles’ pics from the shoot. He asks “is she the one?” and I replied “Yea my friend, I think so.”
