Charles got approached to do a calendar project in Miami, and we were trying to figure out whom to cast for it. We’re throwing out names back and forth, and he mentions we should use Rosa Acosta. I knew of Rosa but I hadn’t seen any pics of her in awhile. But he was adamant that we had to have Rosa.

The calendar went down in flames, but a week or two later I saw a link on a message board for new pics of Rosa from her shoot with SHOW. Six seconds later I speed dial Charles to tell him “Dude…we gotta shoot ROSA NOW!!!” Of course I knew I had 20 minutes of “I told you so’s” coming.

Maybe a month after that I saw her stretching video for the first time, followed by another of 20 minutes of “I told you so’s” from Charles, and I was both feet on the Rosa’s bandwagon.

As soon as Charles set the date to shoot with Rosa in NY, I jump immediately on the road, even though I knew I was going to miss the walk through of the wedding I was in the next day (sorry Syd! Haha). But I couldn’t miss it. As soon as she walked in I knew I was looking at someone special!

Her stretching video along with her spread in the Smooth, shot in Jamaica, were all the ignition she needed. She graced the pages of Blackmen, the cover of Lowrider Girls, XXL Eyecandy of the Month and Eyecandy of the Year, and laid the foundation for the comeback of King Magazine.

Here biggest video credit include Drake’s “Best I Ever Had,” Juelz Santana’s “Back To the Crib,” and Mario’s “Break Up.”

I can say without a doubt no one has done more to make DS what it is today than Rosa!
