Amiya Renee: Lingerie Football Legend

Amiya! Happy to have you back on the site. You didn’t even give me the heads up you liked football! Ahhh you’re sooooo perfect haha. Give us the run down on how you got involved in playing in the LFL?

Well… I have always been an athlete first pretty second;) But I got recruited back in June cuz I konw football and have always wanted to play and this gave me the perfect opportunity to play and show what I got on the field… Wasn’t to excited to play in Lingerie lol but hey I make it work…

What was the reaction of your friends and family when you told them you were going to take a run at playing football?

They honestly thought I was crazy… I shouldn’t even be playing due to all the injuries I have had in the past, but I’m stubborn and I wanted to play so everyone supports me for the most part…

What was the process of making the team?

All the girls have been practicing since Feb and there have been tryouts to get the final roster… We had training camp in July hence the final 20 was selected…

At 5’10 you seem like a pretty intimidating player out of the field. Which positions do your coaches put you at?

Yea u could say that… Im considered one of the meanest girls in the league they call me Ray Lewis lol… I play Middle Line Backer I call the defense and Tight End…

What did you think when you first saw your uniform? It seems like its made for plenty of rug burns to me.

Yea like I said was def not a fan of the uniform lol and def not enough pads I actually have a fracture to my 10th rib on the right side and dislocated my pinky twice already… We have all sustained turf burns which is no fun but hey comes w the territory… Im def a tough cookie so it takes alot to get me out the game…

Who’s the most talented player on your team and most talented you’ve played againist?

We have alot of talent on our team thats why we are ranked num 1 and undefeated… Our quarterback Linda is the truth and can throw like a dude… We hav running backs like G and Crystal that can run u down and then our Wide Reciever Candice is unstoppable… I would hav to say I murder girls at LB and then Shannon and Annie help hold it down at my Defensive Ends… Our back field is nice to I can go on and on lol… On the other side of it I would hav to say that Im keepin my eye on Lydsey Blaine from Seattle but we dont see them until Jan 1… But def dont feel threatened jus want to see what they got…

Give us the biggest misconception a typical football fan woul have about the LFL?

Well that would be that it is powder puff football or that we play flag… But this is real full contact football we jus play in Lingerie which is a perk to alot of pep lol

How can folks see LFL games?

Well u can go to www.lflus.com and ck out the highlights and also order the games theres a football game every Friday at 9pm and u can also order the ones that have been already played… So u should go ck out ur girl and see whats up… Im num 18 Dallas Desire and u can see me puttin it on them and I hav an interception to… We guaranteed to go to the Super Bowl in Miami so stay tuned…

Please tell me how your running back ended up getting suspended in the opening game?

She is actually our TE and that would be Annie… But she had every reason to fight cuz that girl was playin dirty and after a play was over kneed here in the face and knocked out her tooth… She had to get 4 teeth replaced and the messed up thing was they didnt get suspended for there actions but apparently it wouldnt have done ne good for Denver cuz they already need all the help they can get… Its jus funny how when girls start to lose they lose there composer and start playing dirty… We dont hav to do that cuz we hav all the talent… We can thank all of our coaches who might I add all played pro ball and they hav us right…

What’s been the reaction of fans the first time they see a LFL game?

That we really hit and its full contact… Pep really be trippin cuz we hav no pads really and be knocking each other out…

What are you looking forward to the most about the LFL Championship game?

Def goin to Miami and representing Dallas Desire and getting to show pep that not only are we pretty but we can play football… It will def open peps eyes to what we have been doin…
