Playmate, Ali Chanel hangs poolside as our Miss August 2020, shot by the photographer, Ali Mitton. “When I was considering doing Playboy, I had this preconceived notion of what it would be like,” begins Ali. “I expected older men would interview me and that I’d have to show them my body to get the gig. It wasn’t like that at all. It’s so cool that almost everyone I’ve worked with for the shoot has been a woman.” Ali, who is also a mother, had a blast on set, which shines through in her photos. “I got to embrace my sensuality and feel sexy and glamorous,” she says. “As a busy mom, I rarely get the chance to get dolled up, so it was a lot of fun for me.” For Ali, this shoot wasn’t just like any other — it was a chance to be an example for both models and mothers out there. “Society tells moms we aren’t sexy, but that couldn’t be further from the truth,” she says. “I hope moms read my story and see my photos and feel empowered to tell their stories and embrace their bodies.
